Alternative fuels are becoming increasingly more popular way to make the waste to energy for some good reasons. For one, they serve as fractions of high heating value for energetic use as outlined in national and international laws. Furthermore, they substitute scarce and expensive fossil fuels, and that not only in energy intensive industries.

To produce alternative fuels, fractions of high heating value recovered from domestic waste, bulky waste, commercial waste as well as remains from recycling processes and industrial waste are used.

Shredder for refuse disposal was recommended for shredding domestic refuse, no matter they are hard material, soft material, or larger size refuse, Harden shredder can shredding them easily ,which will not wound, non-blocking material, etc. China’s annual garbage output is 150 million tons, the garbage after years piled up, has very little moisture, calorific value is even higher than quality coal, we can using these garbage to generate electricity, generate steam, or fuel for cement manufacturing. The researchers said these garbage will need to go through the sorting and shredding process for burning in the furnace completly, which requires the use of refuse disposal shredder. Tire-derived-fuel (TDF) is a fuel derived from scrap tires of all kinds. A major use for scrap tires is fuel.  Scrap tires make an excellent fuel because of their high heat value.

Tire-derived-fuel can be used by Pulp and Paper companies use  as a supplement to wood waste-the primary fuel used in pulp mill boilers. The technology is proven and has been in continuous use in the U.S. since the early 1980s. On a dry basis, the heating value of the wood waste fuel ranges from about 7,900 to 9,000 Btu/lb.  TDF’s higher heat value of 15,000 Btu/lb. facilitates uniform boiler combustion, and helps overcome some of the operating problems caused by fuels with low heat content, variable heat content and high moisture content. The consistent Btu value and low moisture content of TDF and its low cost in comparison to other supplemental fuels make TDF an especially attractive fuel in the pulp and paper industry. In addition, pulp and paper mills have the ability to burn TDF without major equipment modifications offering yet another advantage to the use of TDF.

Pulp and paper mills continue to increase their use of TDF to help decrease fuel costs and improve both emissions and combustion efficiency. In addition, the use of TDF in pulp and paper mill boilers helps the mills improve their public image in their local regions by demonstrating environmental responsibility. High energy costs, improved reliability in the TDF processing industry and the consistent product quality of TDF are primary reasons for ongoing growth in both the number of mills consuming TDF and in the amount of TDF consumed per mill.

Plastic shredders are plastic recycing machinery in plastic recycing industry. Plastic shredders are designed for granulating plastic into fine, uniformly sized particles called granules. Plastic shredders are mostly used to process scrap and used plastic products before they are melted down and reformed into new products. Most plastics are not biodegradable. Many are recyclable, however, in order to prevent pollution, reduce the demand for the petrochemicals and cut production costs, a used plastic part should be recycled if possible.

Plastic Shredders Applications

Plastic shredders can be designed to process a wide range of plastic items from large bulky products like profiles, drums, car parts, plastic bales and pipes to small bottles, bags and packaging material. All plastic shredders of every size and configuration take products like those and shred them. Plastic shredders also applicated outside of the recycling industry. Cosmetic, pharmaceutical and electronic manufacturers use  plastic shredder to reuse scrap materials. In some processes, when a plastic shredder doesn’t produce fine enough pieces, the shredded plastic will undergo secondary processing, often through a granulators, which is a machine designed to make small pieces even smaller. All kinds of plastics are shredded in these machines including PVC, HDPE, HIPE and LDPE. Some shredders are used for specific kinds of products.

Plastic Shredders Types

Plastic shredders are designed in many different configurations. They range in size and can be equipped with multiple processing shafts, depending on the scale of the shredding operation. When shredding long, linear products like profiles and siding, horizontal shredders are often preferred. All other plastic products are fed into a vertical shredder. In each processing shaft, all of which may be designed (to some degree) to be vibration and sound absorbent, at least two rotors equipped with large, sharp blades rotate toward each other and rip, break, shear and shred plastic. The rotors are often made out of steel or stainless steel and are therefore strong, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. A dispenser basket collects all the granules, which sometimes must fit through a screen acting as a sifter, to ensure the particles are small enough to be melted down.

Recent research suggests that people working in close proximity to plastic shredding machinery may be at risk for inhalation of potentially harmful dust expelled by the shredded plastic products. As is true in any industrial workplaces, proper provisions for air quality and general workspace safety should be made near plastic shredders.
